| PURPOSE:This
zone aims to raise some of
the key questions that arise in tackling the 'big question' posed in
TelecomVisions, namely: What will happen to the
telecoms industry and its
companies over the next five years? |
| CONTENT:The zone is organised into two
main sections: Fixed Communications and Mobile Communications. Key questions
are posed for each of these divergent sectors of the industry. |
Introduction
Here some of the major questions facing the industry are identified.
The Key Question analysed is:
What will happen over the next five years to the
global
telecoms industry and its companies in the internet age?
Before considering this central question a few preliminary remarks are
made concerning the definition of the telecoms
industry and the future of its companies
The key questions deriving from the core question, above, are
divided into Fixed Communications and Mobile
Communications:

The key questions for fixed communications are grouped under the

Communications
The key questions concerning mobile networks are
grouped separately from fixed communications due to the following technical
and regulatory considerations:
